2011 smart Calendar Released

With sales still not going great in 2010, despite the overall rebound in the automotive industry, Daimler's brand smart can do nothing than to hope that 2011, and with it the launch of an increased number of smart vehicles, will bring that coveted “+” in front of the sales figures.

Until then, smart decided to thank those who chose a tiny vehicle and to entice those who haven't done so yet by releasing the 2011 smart calendar. Available in the UK for no more than GBP5, the calendar will also be supporting the Breast Cancer Campaign, with all the money raised from the sale to go into the campaign's bank accounts.

The calendar has been pretty much created by the users who have logged on to destinmationsmart.co.uk and submitted their “evocative and seasonal images.” The best ideas were selected by a jury from the smart UK product team.

As a tribute to the Breast Cancer Campaign, the October 2011 page features smart fortwo pink passion edition, in honor of the organization’s “Wear It Pink” month.

“If people are deliberating what to buy the smart enthusiast in their life for Christmas, the calendar could be the ideal stocking filler,” said Martine Edgell, destinmationsmart.co.uk Community Manager.

“What’s more, we hope that profits from the calendar will generate much needed funds for the Breast Cancer Campaign, a charity that we are already supporting with a donation of £10,000 from total sales of the recently-launched smart fortwo pink passion model.”

“The competition generated some really fantastic images, which really symbolise the fun and colour associated with the smart brand.”
