2011 SEMA: Kia Rio B-Spec Racer

Will race next year 1 photo

Kia seems to have big ambitions for the track, because the automaker unveiled a pair of cars with racing pedigree at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The car you are looking at is the 2012 Rio 5-Door that’s been converted to a B-Spec racer.
It comes as a result of their collaboration with Kinetic Motorsports, and you can expect it to battle other sub-compacts in 2012.

The car is reportedly fit to hit the track in racing events like the World Challenge, GRAND-AM, Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and National Auto Sport Association (NASA).

Despite looking like a million bucks, the whole conversion kit will only cost $14,000 over the base price of the 5-door. But if you want to have it built by Kinetic Motorsports, they will charge you $6,000 extra.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
