Coming to the world as the first products to be offered by newly created company Quadro Techonologie, a new line of scooters dubbed Quadro Suite have been developed by Luciano Marabese, the man behind the design of the Piaggio MP3.

The vehicles in question will be offered in three-wheel versions (Quadro 3D), quite similar to the Piaggio MP3, as well as an innovative four-wheel variant (Quadro 4D).

Taken separately, the 350cc 3D will produce slightly less than 20 kW, with a weight of less than 200 kg (441 pounds). The hydraulic system that drives the front wheels makes it possible to lower the center of gravity about 40 percent compared to Piaggio's MP3.

The 500cc Quadro 4D will be the first vehicle of its kind on the market. The combination of four wheels positioned closely together and the hydraulic tilting technology will allow this vehicle to take on stairs, curbs and potholes. It will be able to develop 40 hp and reach a top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph).

Specifically, the Quadro 3D will be available for purchase at about EUR7,000 (approx. $9,800) starting spring 2011, while the Quadro 4D will start being marketed at about EUR9,000 ($12,600) beginning the fall of the same year.

According to the company, an off-road line of Qiuadro scooters are also expected to surface sometime in 2012.

The company is currently working on establishing a worldwide dealer network, with a final dealer list to be made available in January of next year. Aside from the Piaggio, their design portfolio also includes other major manufacturers, such as Aprilia, Triumph, Yamaha and Bajaj.
