Mercedes-Benz Goes Head-Hunting: Global TechMasters PC 2010

The world championship for the Mercedes-Benz service employees, Global TechMasters PC 2010, is about to start, putting the renowned carmaker's best technicians literally head to head. The event will honor one country's team of technicians as the 'best of the best' for anything related to repair and maintenance of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars.

In the 2010 competition almost all continents are represented, with 70 service technicians from 14 nations to compete in Stuttgart from November 16th to 18th in what seems to be one of the largest Team Building events ever seen.

Mercedes-Benz TechMasters is aimed at motivating employees and further aiding the progress of their qualification. The worldwide program is still growing and shows success, with countries like Luxembourg, Russia, South Africa and USA participating in the competition for the first time this year. Furthermore, about 15,000 service employees participated in the qualifications on a national level in 2010.

Based on years of experience in theory and practice, the Mercedes-Benz Global Training experts have developed a test that is both challenging and enjoyable.

The test is comprised of four parts, Theoretical, Practical, Circle of Competence and a Team Test. The first two challenges are individual, the employees with the highest score will be crowned world's best technician, with a prize being given for each job profile. The last three tasks are team tests and will yield the world's best workshop team. The practical test counts in both the single and team challenges, and cooperation as a team is also assessed in this part of the test.

The specialized inspectors come from "Mercedes-Benz Global Training" organization. Specially trained personnel diagnosticians are employed during the service advisor test.

The contest's goal is to enhance the brand's image as a customer-oriented company and to strengthen its relations with employees.
