One of the most interesting battles in the supercar world is the rivalry between the Nissan GT-R and the Porsche 911 Turbo. The two vehicles have used the Nurbrugring as a battlefield in the past and are now competing against each other in a straight line race.

Nissan used this year’s edition of the Paris Auto Show to introduce the 2011 model year version of the GT-R. The vehicle received multiple updates but Nissan chose not to reveal its performance data.

Now, the car was taken to a media event, where it managed to impress through the amazing time posted for the 0 to 62 mph sprint. Getting to the point, we’ll tell you that the revised GT-R managed to deal with that 0 to 62 mph sprint in 3 seconds flat, 0.3 seconds quicker that the Porsche 911 Turbo S.

The time was posted during a media test session that took place at the Sendai Hi-land Race Way, Japan on November 12-13, with the vehicle achieving the same performance on both days. As for the weather conditions, these were “sunny/cloudy” with the first day offering a temperature of 14.9 degrees celsius, while 18.6 degrees celsius were registered during the second day.

Nissan uses a stock Pure Edition vehicle with no optional extras that used Dunlop SP Sport tires, with the suspension and the VDC-R system using the R mode.

We’ll remind you that the refreshed GT-R comes with an updated 3.8 liter V6 unit that delivers 530 hp at 6,400 rpm and a peak torque of 612 Nm, available between 3,200 and 6,000 rpm.
