Japanese manufacturer Infiniti keeps on releasing details on their upcoming M, set to debut next spring across the world. After letting us know about the engine, the price and so on, it is now time to take a look at what Infiniti calls Forest Air.
The new climate system, unveiled by Infiniti’s bigger brother Nissan in late July, is in fact the next generation air conditioning. As the manufacturer says, instead of „blasting air into occupants' faces, the new M delivers a gentle breeze,” Forest Air „is modulated so it feels far more natural, making the whole cabin environment a more pleasant place to be.”
The system "fluctuates natural breezes by changing the volume of air flowing through the upper and front vent outlets." It can detect sunlight and outside temperatures and control the ventilation patterns accordingly.
The system intermittently and alternately sprays two unique aromas, borneol (Kapur wood, lavender and essential oil) and leaf alcohol in the cabin, while at the same time regulating humidity. To help reduce allergens, Infiniti developed a new filter, with natural grape-seed polyphenol integrated fiber.
According to the manufacturer’s data, the new filter reduces the harmful effect of cedar pollen allergens, for example, by 88 percent.
„With the Forest Air System, the all-new 2011 Infiniti M will demonstrate what Infiniti has always believed: that quality of air is a key factor in helping keep the driver stress-free and alert, and passengers comfortable and relaxed,” the manufacturer concluded.
