2010 Spyker Squadron Collection Launches at Le Mans

The Dutch exotic sportscar maker had just revealed it will debut its motorsport apparel range at the Spyker Store at Le Mans this weekend. The Spyker Squadron 2010 Collection by McGregor comprises twelve items that are designed to celebrate the company’s participation in the renown endurance motorsports event.

The launch will be supported by the drivers of Spyker Squadron’s number 85 Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R. Peter Dumbreck, Jeroen Bleekemolen and Tom Coronel, who will start the 24 hours of Le Mans on Saturday afternoon, opened the Spyker Store today.

The drivers will be wearing items from the new collection, which includes cardigans, shirts and polo shirts, while also being available for interviews, photography and autograph signing sessions.

At Le Mans Spyker Squadron will be racing in the Snoras Bank colors. As a result the C8 Laviolette GT2R will race in the same blue and yellow livery that was used at Le Mans in 2008 and 2009 and not in the red and black livery that is in use in the Le Mans Series this season.

Spyker also recently announced it will enter the timepiece market, thanks to a partnership with the Geneva-based Expressions d'Artistes International. The collection of steel, white gold and rose gold mechanical chronographs will be officially presented on June 15, during the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

The chronographs that form part of it replicate that of the Spyker cars’ instrument panels and will feature a “power reserve indicator”. The company also announced it will release a special edition for owners, which will have serial numbers that match those of Spyker vehicles. The Spyker timepieces will start at $10,700 (for the steel model) and will go up to $27,000 (for the rose gold model).
