2010 MotoGP Provisional Calendar Released

The 2010 MotoGP championship will debut in Qatar on April 11, with the Doha/Losail race remaining the only night race in the whole season. The 2010 edition will end on November 7 at Valencia, according to the provision calendar for the next MotoGP season.

The 18-race calendar will feature some changes, as it follows: the Silverstone circuit which will host the British GP on June 6 will replace the Donington Park GP. Additionally, Hungary will also have its very own MotoGP grand prix at Balatonring on September 19.

The Dutch GP to take place at Assen on June 26 will be the only grand prix to host a race on Saturday while the United States and its Laguna Seca circuit will remain the only one exclusively for the MotoGP class.

What's interesting is that the Hungarian GP was initially in doubt after organizers asked for the postponement, citing the lack of funds as the main reason. It was reported that the construction of the circuit was delayed due to the lack of around 200 million euros, with some voices hinting that the initial finalization deadline, autumn 2009, would not be reached.

Here is the complete provisional calendar for the 2010 season:
