Out of the wide array of BMW models that the Bavarians ever made, this one particular editor has a clear favorite: the E39 5 Series. Make that an M5 and it doesn't get any better for me.
That's why, even now, many years after the original E39 M5 was launched, my heart still skips a beat when I see one down the street or, even better, put up for sale. Seeing one with 6,555 miles on the odometer, 10 years after it was built, doesn't happen too often.
