Few people know but back in the late 90s, BMW didn't even consider releasing a new model with the M5 badge on the boot lid, even though the E34 model was quite popular. The industry forced them into it, though.
After Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz released their own high-performance luxury sedans, BMW decided to came up and show them how it's done. The E39 M5 used a 4.9-liter V8 high-revving engine that produced 400 HP and 500 Nm (370 lb-ft) of torque.
You could get the monster with a 6-speed Getrag gearbox and then get to burning rubber like there was no tomorrow. Over the years, the sex appeal and beautiful lines of the E39 M5 turned it into a classic.
Today, over 15 years after it was officially unveiled, we're taking a look at a very beautiful and tasteful model that is still roaming American roads. This one was fitted with RSV Forged wheels, tinted headlights and taillights, StopTech calipers and a custom exhaust by the guys from EuroProjektz.
