As odd as it may sound, many people find it difficult to grasp the idea that 1993 was almost a quarter of a century ago. In this retro respect, we're bringing you a few Monaco supercar spotting pics from that year.
Ah, the pleasures of supercar spotting before the internet made it simple for us. These images are focused on a pair of undoubtedly red Ferrari F40s, with the now-senior Maranello halo car having fully bloomed at the time - we'll remind you the Maranello factory delivered 1,311 units of the raw machine, between 1987 and 1996.
These aren't the only supercars showed in the images (hat tip to Autogespot for the photos), with another Ferrari, this time a 512TR, as well as a Lamborghini Diablo being present.
In fact, if you're planning to spend at least a few days in this World Supercar Capital and want to know more about how the high-octane population or the traffic was back in the day, you should try to approach the parking valets at the city-state's hotels.
One of the best examples is the Fairmont hotel. You know, the one built over the infamous tunnel that's not just part of the F1 track, but also gives supercars the opportunity to clear their throats. We spoke to their valets on multiple occasions and they were friendly, as well as full of surprises each time.
It's difficult to look at these images and not lust after the days when a Ferrari didn't need to be tuned in order to be cool - an important part of the current Monaco supercar population is comprised of pumped-up 458s, Gallardos and GT-Rs whose owners would do just about anything to grab attention, from drifting in traffic to customizing their cars for the sake of turning heads.
At the other end of the contemporary times Monaco supercars worthiness scale, we'd probably list the four-car 2017 Porsche 911 R test vehicle convoy that visited the French Riviera earlier this year.
