The Corvette continued to sell well in 1974 despite the coupe and the convertible becoming more expensive. Chevrolet produced 37,502 cars, with the coupe accounting for the lion's share and the convertible losing even more ground.
The coupe could be had for at least $6,001, while the convertible was more affordable with a price tag of $5,765. Only 5,474 convertibles rolled off the assembly lines this year.

One of the coupes that left the factory in 1974 landed on eBay not long ago, with the seller claiming the car had just been pulled from a warehouse.

The Vette has allegedly been sitting for a long time in the same place, and seller filark describes it as a "true barn find." It's still complete, albeit you shouldn't expect everything to be in working shape.

I won't insist much on the Vette's condition because the photos speak for themselves, but let's admit it. It exhibits an impressive shape, and considering the rust isn't a problem, the next buyer's main concern should be getting the mechanical part up and running.

It's unclear if this Corvette still carries the original paint – in fact, it's unclear how original the car continues to be after all these years. It's complete, but I'm more interested in its original setup, especially as an all-original Corvette in such a great shape would be an intriguing purchase for collectors.

We're also getting a few specifics on the engine under the hood. The seller claims the engine "cranked beautifully" when they tried to put power in the started, but they didn't go any further, giving the opportunity to discover what happens under the hood to the next buyer.

The VIN (1Z37J4S406870) decodes to a 1974 Corette coupe with the base engine under the hood. The base 350 V8 on the Corvette produced 195 horsepower in 1974.

I doubt this Vette will remain available for long, especially because the car looks like an easy project, at least at first glance. The selling price could be an issue, but an in-person inspection (or a third-party verification if you can't pay a visit to the owner) could help get a full picture of whether the Corvette is worth the money.

The seller hopes to get $11,500 for the Corvette, but they also enabled the Make Offer button, so they're willing to listen to your offers if you really want the car. eBay's statistics indicate that seven people are currently watching the listing, though it's unknown if any are involved in acquisition talks.

Meanwhile, the Corvette continues to sleep in North Port, Florida, and this is where you'll need to drive your trailer if you decide to purchase it. You still have 28 days to inspect the car and make a decision.
