Decades after it first rolled off the assembly lines, the F-Series half-ton that goes by the name F-100 is still making the headlines. And it does so because of the love it’s being shown by custom shops across America, which keep releasing incredible iterations of the Blue Oval pickup into the wild.
Even now, a long time after production ended and after possibly thousands of custom projects based on it came to light, the F-100 still manages to be an alluring base for customization projects. The one you’re now looking at is one of the freshest, and it didn’t get to spin those wheels all that much since it was made.
The custom truck is based on a 1965-model year F-100 and was completed in 2019. Now, with just 1,000 miles (1,609 km) on the odometer, it is looking for the owner that will definitely put it on the map of car shows across the U.S.
The machine went through all the proper stages of transformation, going from being a regular workhorse to becoming a show car. And it’s not all about the polished, charcoal grey steel panels or leather-wrapped interior with bucket seats and a Pioneer head unit, but also about a powertrain to die for.
We’re told this thing has a 460ci (7.5-liter) bored and stroked to 510ci (8.4-liter) tucked inside the bay, running Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, and a 3-speed transmission.
Power from the engine (an undisclosed amount) is transferred to the road by means of staggered 19- and 20-inch Boyd Coddington wheels, which spin at the end of a RideTech ShockWave air ride system.
Like many of its kind, this pickup too is for sale, and it is going for $79,900 on RK Motors. Whoever buys it will also get a set of photos documenting the build.
