If you’re willing to spend nearly $10,000 on a 55-year-old car, then this Chevrolet Impala might be exactly what you’re looking for.
Sold on Facebook Marketplace, the ‘65 Impala has been sitting for 28 years, but despite being parked for so long, it still looks surprisingly good, which means you shouldn’t normally spend a fortune on fixing it.
The seller says the Impala is in “above average condition,” so there are only a few rust points here and there. A closer look at the photos posted in the ad proves that this is indeed the case, but the aging is after all something that can’t be avoided. Especially on a car that’s 55 years old, that is.
The car originally came with a 327ci (5.4-liter) engine, but according to the seller, this was replaced at some point during its life with a 350ci (5.7-liter) Turbo Fire V8 unit. Furthermore, the car is fitted with a 4-speed transmission and features power steering, working brakes, and air conditioning. It’s not know if any other modifications have been made.
On the other hand, what you need to know is that the AC compressor missing, but everything else is still in place. The factory-installed tinted glass is still there, and all windows are in working condition.
The car is located in Lebanon, Tennessee, and comes with a $9,500 price tag.
The 1965 Impala is actually part of the fourth generation and at the time of launch, it was the car that managed to sell so good that it set a new record in the United States.
More than 1 million units were sold that year in the country, something which proved just how much everyone liked the Impala. A year later, the convertible version of the Impala became the second best-selling model with this body style in the United States, with the Mustang obviously securing the leading spot.
