1960 Ferrari 250 GT Competizione Up for Auction

Lot 164 is undoubtably the most exciting one coming to this year’s RM Auction Arizona sale, taking place later this month.
The 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta 'Competizione' is so valuable that placing an estimate is nearly impossible, though eight figures are clearly possible.

This early Ferrari GT is a collector’s item from 1960. It features the short wheelbase design penned by Pininfarina and built by Carrozzeria Scaglietti.

The car that’s going under the hammer in Arizona is a very rare example of the rare alloy-bodied SWB, just the 17th example of 72 competizione cars built. It is fully documented from the time it was sold, with just four people having owned it in half a century. It’s been refreshed in 2010 by renowned Ferrari expert Wayne Obry, exhibited at Pebble Beach and Villa d’Este and has won numerous awards.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
