Is there something unusual about a Porsche cruising through London? Not really - any road-legal Porsche packs a dose of luxury, therefore it is fit for the British capital’s spirit.
However, when it comes to the Porsche 911 featured in the video below, it’s hard to see how this extreme machine is suitable for London’s choking traffic.
We are talking about a 911 whose Middle Eastern owner decided to break all the unwritten laws of Porsche. For one thing, Zuffenhausen engineers don’t even come close to the mechanical limits of the cars they build, always leaving plenty of room for the reliability factor.
Well, the 911 GT2 in question has reportedly been pushed to a monster output, delivering 1,300 hp at the wheels, which means the Neunelfer packs around 1,500 hp at the crank.
Those of you who have lost track of the Porsche line-up need to be reminded that the GT2 is a Turbo with more oomph and less all-wheel-drive (read: rear-wheel-drive). The sheer idea of such a 911 packing 1,500 hp is enough to blow one’s mind.
And while we love to see projects that push the limits of a flat-six, we can’t say the same about the appearance of this 911.
Every Porsche, even a GT2 RS, has a bit of an understated aura, as its styling never tells the complete technical story hidden underneath the surface. Not this one, though.
From the chrome wrap to the Candy Apple red wheels, this rear-engined coupe screams for attention. Oh, and the cabin isn’t exactly shy in terms of colors either.
However, driving a machine that requires a gigantic, spider web-like roll cage through London is ridiculous. Then again, anybody who's sat inside a 911 knows that trying to drive with your arm out the window would make you extremely uncomfortable. So if this guy doesn’t have a problem with that, we suppose the mismatch between the car and the location doesn’t even seem like an issue to him.
