Since it’s Ford Month here at autoevolution, our main concern these days is to highlight some of the best models the American brand has manufactured throughout its entire history.
And the one you see here really deserves a place in our special coverage, as it’s one super-rare Mustang that every collector can dream about parking in their own garage.
It’s one of just seven such Mustangs, according to Gateway Classic Cars, which is currently in charge of finding a new owner for the vehicle. Painted in Grabber Yellow, the Ford Shelby GT350 is powered by a numbers-matching 351 engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission.
As you could easily figure out by simply browsing the photo gallery here, everything is in absolute mint condition, so the engine and the transmission work correctly too. And not only that but given the Mustang has been stored in a climate-controlled garage, there’s no single spot of rust on it.
In other words, this Mustang looks almost like on day one, though partially to thank for the whole thing is also a light restoration received in 1998 when the engine was given a bunch of fixes while the body received a fresh coat of paint.
The icing on the cake, however, is an original touch given by Caroll Shelby himself. The sun visor inside the car was signed by Shelby back in 1998, making this Mustang even more special than it already was. The car has 72,300 miles (116,500 km) on the clock and comes with a clean title.
1969 was the year when Caroll Shelby ended his collaboration with Ford, which means this Mustang was one of the last cars produced as part of this agreement.
How much is such a rare car really worth? Quite a lot, obviously, so if you were hoping to get this Shelby GT350 home, be ready to spend no less than $94,000 on it.
