YAMAHA YBR-125 Custom (2008-Present) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2008, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer launched the Yamaha YBR-125 Custom, a version of the base YBR-125 model designed for riders looking for a stylish, affordable, and reliable motorcycle.

The Yamaha YBR-125 was a lightweight motorcycle that debuted in 2005 as a replacement model for the Yamaha SR 125 and was eventually replaced by the Yamaha YS 125. The bike was available in naked, faired, and custom versions.

The 2008 Custom version featured a new bodywork represented by a new teardrop-shaped fuel tank, valanced front and rear fenders, a chrome finish on the instruments and flashers, a large-capacity silencer, and a chrome-plated rear carrier with an integral grab rail.

In the aesthetic department, the bike had standard features, such as a round headlight on the front, a wide handlebar, a one-piece dual seat with a passenger grab rail, a small luggage rack, and nine-spoke lightweight aluminum wheels.

The 2008 Yamaha YBR-125 Custom had installed a 124cc four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine underneath its fuel tank, delivering an output power of 13 hp at 8,000 rpm and 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.

The power produced by the engine was handled by a five-speed manual transmission with a wet multi-plate clutch and sent to the rear wheel through a final chain drive.
