In 2010, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer launched the Yamaha Stratoliner S, a touring machine that came equipped with standard features, such as a round headlight with a chromed housing, a two-into-one chromed exhaust system, a two-piece dual seat with a low riding position, and 12-spoke lightweight wheels.

In addition to its standard features, the US touring version featured several accessories, including a large windscreen for enhanced weather and wind protection, large panniers for additional storage, and a quick detachable passenger backrest for more comfort.

The 2010 machine also came with several chrome-finished improvements, such as front brake and clutch master cylinders, brake and clutch levers, a belt guard, front fork and covers, handlebar clamps, a shifter, a front pulley cover, several engine covers, rear fender, and polished wheels.

The bike remained unchanged from the standard model in other departments, featuring the same massive V-twin engine, suspension, and braking system. The Startoliner S combined precision, craftsmanship, and performance.

For power, the 2010 Yamaha Startoliner S boasted 99 hp on tap at 4,250 rpm and 167 Nm (123 lb-ft) torque at 2,250 rpm from a 1.854cc air-cooled V-twin engine fed by an electronically controlled fuel injection system.

In the braking department, two 298 mm discs with four-piston calipers were handling the front stopping power, while a 320 mm disc with a single-piston caliper managed the rear wheel braking performance.
