KTM 390 DUKE (2016-2017) Specs, Performance & Photos

The KTM 390 Duke was a standard naked motorcycle manufactured from 2013 until the present (2023). The bike was assembled by Bajaj Auto and KTM Asia Motorcycle Manufacturing Inc.

It was developed under a joint program of Bajaj Auto and KTM engineers. The concept was developed in Austria, and its design and final product development were done by Bajaj in India.

Over its production years, the bike received several updates, like the one in 2017, with a larger front brake disc, a modified headlight converted to LED, a TFT display with phone paring capability, increased seat height, smaller wheelbase, manually-adjustable brake and clutch levers, larger fuel tank, and a ride-by-wire system.

In 2018, the motorcycle received some minor modifications, such as a deflector plate on the left side of the chassis, daytime running light, and meeting EURO4 emission standards.

In 2020, the bike met BS6 emission standards and gained a bi-directional quick-shifter. In 2022, the motorcycle was available in three color schemes and was released at an MSRP of $3,400 in India and $7,900 in Austria.

The 2016 KTM 390 Duke had installed a 373cc four-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine underneath its fuel tank, managed by an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system. As for the power figures, the engine developed 44 hp at 9,500 rpm and 35 Nm (26 lb-ft) torque at 7,250 rpm.
