KTM 1190 Adventure (2016-Present) Specs, Performance & Photos

The KTM 1190 Adventure was an adventure touring motorcycle introduced by KTM in October 2012 at the Intermot Trade Show and released as a 2014 model year. It was powered by a 1,195cc V-twin engine based on the one used by the RC8 sports bike.

Like the KTM RC8 and unlike its 990 Adventure predecessor, the 1190 Adventure was fitted with a ride-by-wire system. It was the first motorcycle with Bosch Anti-Lowside Technology, also known as Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC).

In 2016, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer launched the KTM 1190 Adventure, an adventure touring machine fitted with a half fairing, a medium-sized windscreen, a two-piece dual seat with passenger grab handles, a small luggage rack, an up-swept exhaust system with a silencer mounted on the right side, and wires-spoke wheels.

It was built around a powder-coated Chrome Molybdenum tubular space steel frame with a 48 mm WP inverted fork on the front, offering 190 mm of travel and a spring preload-adjustable WP-PDS shock on the rear with 210 mm of travel.

The braking performance was handled by two 320 mm discs on the front coupled to four-piston calipers and a 267 mm disc on the rear tied to a dual-piston caliper.

As for power, the 2016 KTM 1190 Adventure used a 1,195cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine mounted underneath its fuel tank, delivering 148 hp at 9,500 rpm and 125 Nm (92 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.
