Segment: Clasic
Production years: 1946, 1947
The 1946 Indian Chief had, at its heart, an air-cooled, four-stroke, 1205cc, V-Twin powerhouse paired to a three-speed manual transmission, and could produce a claimed 40 horsepower. Features worth mentioning would be the single seat, a rear luggage rack, a hardtail rear suspension, full-fenders, laced wheels, pull-back handlebars, and rider floorboards. This is one of the first touring-oriented machines ever to have been built.
