HONDA ST1300P Police (2005-2006) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2006, the Japanese motorcycle maker launched the Honda ST1300P Police, a specifically designed motorcycle for police departments and law enforcement agencies worldwide. The police version was based on the standard ST1300 model with the exact features but with additional police amenities.

The 2006 ST1300P featured several modifications, including an integrated police radio system, an upgraded electrical system with additional lights and sirens, and a larger alternator that provided more current for the other electrical systems.

In the power department, the police version of the ST1300 model was powered by the same 1,261cc longitudinal-mounted four-cylinder engine as the standard model, boasting 118 hp with a peak at 8,000 rpm and 117 Nm (86 lb-ft) of torque at 6,500 rpm.

Also, the suspension was carried from the standard model, with a lightweight aluminum-alloy triple-box-section dual-spar frame fitted on the front with a 45 mm air-assisted telescopic fork. The rear suspension was handled by a cast aluminum swingarm with a spring preload and rebound adjustable shock absorber.

For braking performance, the 2006 Honda ST1300P Police featured two 310 mm floating discs with three-piston calipers on the front wheel, while the rear end was handled by a 316 mm disc coupled to a three-piston caliper.

The bike had a full fairing, offering excellent wind and weather protection, low noise, and high-speed aerodynamics. It also packed a three-way adjustable windscreen, a comfortable dual seat, and large 35-liter lockable and detachable panniers.
