Segment: Sport Touring
Production years: 2007, 2008
Part of the ST series in Honda's range, the Honda ST1300 was a touring machine that debuted in 2002 in the European market and in 2003 in the American market as a successor to the ST1100 Pan European manufactured from 1990 to 2002.
In 2008, Honda launched the ST1300 in the American Market and, in addition to the standard 2008 Model, they released the ST1300A ABS version, which like its name says, was updated with an additional Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) that increased control over various road conditions or slippery surfaces.
Compared to the standard model, the ST1300A ABS packed the exact appearance and specifications, with additional weight from the ABS modulator that didn't change the bike's performance.
In the appearance department, the bike wore the same clothes as its predecessors, with a full fairing and excellent aerodynamic capability, an adjustable windscreen with excellent weather protection, and a comfortable dual seat with passenger grab rails.
In addition, the bike featured a digital instrument cluster, heated grips that increased comfort in cold weather, a large trunk, large 35-liter side panniers for extra storage, and lightweight cast aluminum wheels.
The 2008 Honda ST1300A ABS took its muscles from the same 1,261cc V4 four-cylinder engine as its predecessors, offering smooth and precise throttle control and an output power of 118 hp at 8,000 rpm and 117 Nm (86 lb-ft) torque with a peak at 6,500 rpm.
Although heavy, the bike was equipped with a five-speed manual transmission and a low-maintenance shaft drive, pushing the machine to a top speed of 225 kph (140 mph).
