HONDA ST1300A Pan European ABS (2006-2007) Specs, Performance & Photos

Along with the standard ST1300 model, the Japanese maker launched the ST1300A Pan European ABS. The sport touring machine featured the same appearance and specifications as the standard machine but an additional safety modulator that enhanced control over slippery surfaces and various road conditions.

The additional Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) prevented the wheels from locking when hard braking was applied, enhancing control and safety and making it a popular choice among touring riders who appreciate performance and safety.

In other departments, the bike was the same as the standard model, sharing the 1,261cc V4 engine used as a stressed member in the lightweight aluminum frame and mounted low for more controllability.

As for appearance, the bike packed the same aerodynamic full fairing with an adjustable windscreen that offered excellent weather protection, a comfortable dual seat with passenger grab handles, and large panniers for extra storage.

The suspension was carried from the previous models unchanged, with a 45 mm air-assisted telescopic fork taking care of the front end. A preload and rebound adjustable shock absorber handled the rear end.

Also, the braking performance was unchanged, with the same 310 mm floating discs and three-piston calipers on the front. The rear wheel was also stopped by a single 316 mm disc with a matching three-piston caliper.

With the additional weight of the ABS modulator, the bike's performance was not altered and delivered the same output power of 118 hp at 8,000 rpm and 117 Nm (86 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.
