Segment: Sport Touring
Production years: 2004, 2005
The Honda ST1300 was a sport touring machine that debuted in 2002 and was manufactured until 2013 as a successor to the ST1100 model, manufactured from 1990 to 2002. The ST1300 was succeeded by the CTX1300 in 2013, a cruiser machine that packed the same engine, modified for better fuel efficiency and more torque at low rpm.
In 2005, the motorcycle maker released the Honda ST1300 Pan European, a touring machine designed for the European market that followed the same recipe as its predecessors.
Compared to its ST1100 predecessor, the ST1300 featured many modifications, such as a new aluminum frame, a cassette-type five-speed manual transmission, and a two-element fuel tank.
Also, the ST1300 model was a popular choice among police departments and law enforcement agencies worldwide. Honda released a specifically designed ST1300P machine in 2005, adorned with additional accessories for police work.
The suspension was handled by a 45 mm air-assisted telescopic fork on the front and a spring and rebound adjustable shock absorber on the rear for optimum suspension performance and handling.
Also, the stopping power was achieved by two 310 mm floating discs with three-piston calipers mounted on the front end. A 316 mm disc paired with a three-piston caliper handled the rear-end braking performance.
As for power, the 2005 Honda ST1300 Pan European had the same 1,261cc four-cylinder engine as its predecessors and provided a force equivalent to 118 hp with a peak at 8,000 rpm and 117 Nm (86 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.
