The Honda ST series comprised two sport-touring motorcycles, the ST1100, also known as the Pan European in Europe, and the later ST1300 model released in 2002 in Europe and 2003 in the United States.
In 2004, Honda launched the ST1300 Pan European, a natural evolution of the ST1100 but with more power, torque, and performance. The new engine acted as a stressed member of the lightweight aluminum frame, offering a lower center of gravity.
Also, the Honda ST1300 Pan European delivered strong power and offered excellent comfort. It was designed for long-distance touring and packed various accessories, making it a popular choice among riders.
In contrast to the ST1100, the 2004 Pan European had a shorter engine by 51 mm, providing better ergonomics for the rider and passenger. Also, the fuel-injected engine offered smooth power and precise throttle control with effortless acceleration.
The new cast aluminum frame was 1.1 kg (2.4 lbs) lighter than the steel unit it replaced and was fitted with a 45 mm air-assisted telescopic fork that handled the front suspension. The bike packed a preload and rebound adjustable shock absorber on the rear end and an aluminum swingarm.
Two 310 mm discs bolted to the front wheel and engaged by three-piston calipers and a 316 mm disc squeezed by a three-piston caliper on the rear achieved the stopping power.
The 2004 Honda ST1300 Pan European packed a 1,261cc longitudinal four-cylinder fuel-injected engine, delivering an output power of 118 hp at 8,000 rpm and 117 Nm (86 lb-ft) of torque at 6,500 rpm.
