HONDA ST1100A Pan European ABS (2000-2001) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2001, in addition to the Standard ST1100 Pan European model, the Japanese maker released a safer machine wearing the same name but with an additional "A" suffix representing the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).

Powered by the same 1,085cc engine as its predecessor and equipped with an ABS braking system and Traction Control System (TCS) that enhanced safety and control in any riding conditions, the ST1100 Pan European was one of the best sport-touring machines at the time.

The bike featured a computer-designed solid steel frame that placed the engine low for excellent maneuverability and precise handling and a wind tunnel-tested fairing with Honda's Air Control Windscreen that offered perfect wind and weather protection, less noise, and high-speed aerodynamics.

Some additional features included a 28-liter fuel tank under the seat for a low center of gravity, detachable and lockable color-matched large saddlebags, integrated tip-over fairing protectors, padded passenger grabrails, integrated front and rear turn signals, and a fairing-mounted headlight adjuster.

The lightweight thre-spoke cast aluminum wheels were fitted with two 296 mm discs and three-piston calipers on the front and a 296 mm disc with a three-piston caliper on the rear for strong stopping power.

As for the power figures, the 2001 Honda ST1100 Pan European used the 1.085cc longitudinal-mounted V4 engine and boasted 100 hp at 8,500 rpm and 107 Nm (79 lb-ft) torque with a peak at 6,000 rpm.
