HONDA ST1100 Pan European (2000-2001) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2001, Honda released the ST1100 Pan European, a sport-touring motorcycle manufactured in 1990 and kept in production until 2002. As its name says, the Pan European was designed for Europe in a lighter package, sportier, and more maneuverable.

The 2001 Honda ST1100 Pan European carried over most of the Gold Wing's characteristics, such as the reliable and quiet shaft drive, full fairing, and integral panniers. It featured a sportier package that fulfilled touring riders' requirements.

The bike's highlights comprised the longitudinal V4 engine paired with a five-speed transmission with a low-maintenance and quiet shaft drive, optional ABS and TCS, a 28-liter fuel tank for a range of 480 km (300 miles), and a 40 amp liquid-cooled alternator, powering various accessories.

The 2001 ST1100 model was a reliable and capable touring machine perfect for long-distance ridings with good performance and comfort, but also a popular choice among police forces worldwide.

The bike rolled from the manufacturing plant on lightweight cast aluminum wheels, fitted with two 296 mm discs and three-piston calipers on the front and a 296 mm disc with a three-piston caliper on the rear, providing strong stopping power.

The front wheel was also fitted with a 43 mm air-assisted telescopic fork handling its front suspension and a preload and rebound adjustable shock absorber that took care of the rear-end suspension.

The 1,085cc inline four-cylinder liquid-cooled V4 engine delivered an output power of 100 hp at 8,500 rpm and 107 Nm (79 lb-ft) of torque with a peak at 6,000 rpm.
