Whenever most people think about tuning their cars, the grille isn’t exactly the first thing they have in mind. Then again, perhaps their cars don’t have grilles as large as the Cadillac Escalade's.
Everything about the Escalade is either huge or even bigger, but once you get over the sheer massiveness of it all, the one thing that strikes the most is its radiator grille. Whether it’s because it sits right at the eye level of the majority of people (that’s an exaggeration, but it conveys a point) or because it’s one of the largest chromed pieces of metal plastic you’ll ever see in your life, the fact of the matter is that you can’t miss it.

What you can do is replace it. Together with the headlights, the grille is one of the defining elements of the front end of a car, so swapping the stock offering with an aftermarket one could alter the SUV’s character.

Fear not. As these images of the STRUT grille clearly prove, the Escalade is still as commanding and aggressive in presence as before. It’s just a little bit less likely to blind drivers on the opposite lanes on a sunny day.

The amount of chrome has been reduced by 70 percent (that’s an estimation, actual values might vary) and those thick, vertical bars have been replaced with a fine diamond mesh made out of stainless steel. Wearing shades when you meet with a STRUT grille wearing Escalade is still a good idea, as the new design keeps the thick stripe at the top of the hood.

Opting for the STRUT grille gives the customer the option of choosing between a fiberglass or real carbon fiber grille, both coming with the optional strips of LEDs that link with the car’s existing daytime running lights.

In the middle of the diamond mesh sits a wing that can also be made from either fiberglass or carbon fiber, and it can sport a STRUT shield or the original Cadillac emblem. Don’t know about you, but providing the grille doesn’t feel like it’s enough to grant you the right of placing your badge at the front of a car. Yet we’ll let the customers decide on that one.

The recommended price for the STRUT grille starts at $7,300. That may seem like a lot, but bear in mind it’s also a lot of grille we’re talking about.
