The car has been designed to be as quiet as possible, and the engineers were helped by supercomputer technologies to make the most of the architecture for strength, stiffness, and quietness. The exterior is easily recognizable as a Buick crossover with contemporary proportions, flowing lines and detailed surface features.

Envision features winged headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, rear LED accent lights, active grille shutters, and standard heated outside mirrors with LED turn signal indicators. Articulating Xenon high-intensity discharge headlamps are also available.

According to Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick, “The all-new Buick Envision is a modern, confident and responsive luxury compact crossover that combines the brand’s core characteristics with great performance features like our HiPer strut suspension. That dynamic experience behind the wheel is complemented by Buick’s signature luxury, whisper-quiet cabin, and connectivity features to benefit drivers and passengers alike.

The interior complements the elegant exterior and comes with a “floating” wraparound instrument panel that sweeps into the door panels for a flowing, organic appearance. The cabin combines beauty with innovation and the center console storage bin features damped dual wing-type doors that allow the driver and passenger to access it without disturbing the others.

Other features of the interior include standard heated front seats, rear seats and steering wheel, sliding 60/40-split rear seat for more legroom for second-row passenger, standard eight-way power adjustable front seats and four-way-adjustable lumbar, and standard tri-zone climate control with rear seat controls.

The centerpiece of the interior is the 8-inch IntelliLink screen, which provides intuitive operation of basic functions capable of linking up Bluetooth devices, such as smartphones, SD Cards or MP3 players. The steering wheel was also designed with thumb-operated toggle switches, to make it easier for the driver to scroll through the IntelliLink menus.

When talking about safety, Envision has 10 standard airbags, Automatic Park Assist, Surround Vision Camera, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Collision Mitigation Braking, and it uses for the first time the Lane Assists system.

Buick’s new luxury crossover is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine, capable of 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, linked to a six-speed automatic transmission. The car is offered exclusively with AWD and uses Buick’s first active Twin Clutch AWD system designed to make the most of handling and stability in all driving conditions.

The 2016 Envision is expected to be available for purchase in the US in the second quarter of 2016.
