Here is something totally unexpected we received from one of readers. Yes, it's a Renault Clio 4, but look a little closer and notice there's something really different and cool about it.
For example, the supermini has the same sporty bumper as the 120 hp Clio GT and a sexy new shade of metallic beige. The headlights have been restyled with more chrome, a projector system and the world "Initiale" clearly made out on the side of a large design element. Larger wheels have also been installed along with a squared off piece of chrome trim we last saw on the Wind roadster.
Given all these clues, we believe that this is the Clio Initiale Paris special edition and that it's likely powered by either the 120 PS 1.2 TCe or the 90 PS 1.5 dCi.
We also have one picture of the interior, showing sporty seats covered in black and beige leather. Similarly to the Laguna Coupe, the center console and armrest have also been targeted.
Renault is soon to launch the Initiale Paris as a premium label for some of its models, starting with the Clio and closely followed by Espace MPV.
The Clio Initiale Paris will be revealed and launched in late September, just before the Paris Motor Show opens its doors. The MPV model will follow that towards the end of the year.
Renault also wants face the tough challenge of improving customer care with these models. This has always been the Achilles heel of the brand and fixing that could increase profit margins. It's a similar approach to Citroen's DS brand or Ford's upcoming "Vignale", launching next year.
