The next-generation Dodge Viper, a development that everybody would like to see on the streets as soon as possible. However, this doesn’t mean that us automotive journalists must jump the credibility fence and take rumors for granted.
Yesterday, Top Speed published a piece of news indicating that Dodge would bring the next-gen Viper, which was expected to arrive late next year as a 2013 model, to a charity event set to be held next month in Miami, without offering any info that would make the whole story credible.
Today, eGMCarTech borrowed the news, making a story that had no shadow of doubt, as if it was based on official information. Autoblog also jumped the bandwagon, but they did the right thing: question the sourceless information.
Fortunately, Left Hand News got things straight, contacting Chrysler, with company representative Lisa Barrows assuring them that “nothing is expected until next year”
