Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG Pimped Out by Vath

Vath Automobiltechnik, the German-based aftermarket specialist, has released an exclusive package for the Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG. It involves both the looks and the engine, as the Vath G55 features new, sleeker and unique exterior styling and a power upgrade from the roaring V8 under the hood.

The big, pimped out SUV has 680 horsepower, 173 more than the model it is based on. Equally impressive is the amount of torque Vath engineers have managed to squeeze out of the 5.5 liter V8 engine: 840 Nm (619 lb-ft)! The guys at Vath made this possible by retrofitting the engine with a special intake manifold, complete outlet unit, coolers, as well as patented Vath fuel cooler. All of these modifications enable the G55 to reach a top speed of 265 km/h (165 mph).

Styling-wise, the G55 has an extensively modified front-end section, which features a restyled bonnet, a front spoiler with large air intakes, LED daytime running lamps and Xenon headlights. The sides boast two sport exhaust units each, placed under the chromed sills, in contrast with the deeply tinted windows. Another highlight on the Vath G55 is the brand-new “Race Edition” foliation designed especially for the premium SUV.

The Vath G55 rides on 22-inch lightweight rims, wrapped in high-performance Yokohama tires (295/35R22). The car is also fitted with sport shock absorbers and adjustable ride height, that can lower the car up to 35 millimeters. The interior features carbon applications, Alcantara covered steering wheel, leather upholstery and high-tech multimedia system.

The price hasn't been announced yet, but as the standard G55 AMG is already a very expensive vehicle, the price of the Vath G55 shouldn't be too relevant for customers.
