The Mercedes SLK 55 AMG is a very fast car but its specs show that it can’t quite be placed at the top of the German Powerwars fighters. Luckily, VATH has taken the car, given it a throughout transformation and rebranded it as a VATH V58.
The supercar’s 5.5 liter V8 engine, that produced 360HP and 510 Nm when it left the factory, has had its capacity extended to 5.8 liters and now uses forced induction via a supercharger. The unit has also received a long list of upgraded internals and an ECU remap. The powerplant now offers a stunning 565 HP and 770 Nm of torque. Before we tell you what this does to the car’s performance we have to mention the fact that the upgrade costs $42,037. Still interested? Very well then: the tuning house has not released any acceleration time but has mentioned the point where the V58 stops gathering speed - 193 mph (310 km/h).
The car uses a bespoke threaded sports chassis and lets owners choose the level of height reduction (from 20 to 65 mm). It uses a high performance braking system that features six piston calipers and 378 mm rotors for the front axle.
Drivers who also want to slide the V58 through the bends have to pay extra for a limited slip differential. The tuner also offers an optional fuel cooling system that was developed in-house.
The SLK’s aerodynamics have also been improved through the use of a carbon aerodynamic package comprising of a front spoiler lip and a read diffuser featuring three fins.
The V58’s interior offers multiple personalized features, such as a sport steering wheel (available in a leather, wood or carbon finish) and specially designed ornaments.
