Mercedes A45 AMG at the Nurburgring

In order to make a hatchback that copes with the Nurburgring, Mercedes gave the A-Class to the AMG division. They added a stiffer suspension, huge wheels and a body kit, not to mention a new engine with F1 tech and a Heldex all-wheel drive system.
The resulting car is called the A45 AMG, and it’s deffinetely something new for Mercedes to offer. There’s basically nothing like this in their repertoire. It’s got AWD, not RWD. The engine has four cylinders, not eight or twelve.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbo engine tuned by AMG that produces somewhere in the region of 340 horsepower and maximum torque significantly above 400 Nm (295 lb-ft)".

Mercedes wants to make this into an Audi RS3 rival, and we have confidence they will deliver. Think about it this way: you’ll also get a hand-build and signed engine, plus a cool interior if you want.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
