Goodwood Revival Hosts Largest Ford GT40 Gathering Ever [Video]
The event gathered tens of GT40s and a number of famous racing drivers and racecar builders or team owners, including Jackie Stewart, Adrian Newey and Kenny Brack. Restored as they were built yesterday, the V8-powered vehicles flexed their muscles around the track, bringing back the glamor of classic racing. Fortunately enough, Adrian Newey was careful enough not to crash his GT40.
For those that aren’t very familiar with the Ford GT40, the sportscar was developed in the early 1960s and went on to win four consecutive Le Mans races, between 1966-1969. The GT40 was developed by Ford Advanced Vehicles, John Wyer Automotive Engineering and Shelby American, with most examples being built in Slough, UK.
