Frankfurt 2013: Updated 2014 Jaguar XJR Unveiled [Live Photos]
The one the put up for display was the most powerful model in their current line-up, the XJR that comes with a 550 HP V8 supercharged engine that develops 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque.
For the 2014 models, Jaguar is promising new rear seats luxury features like twin 'airline' reclining seats (with massage function, of course), more headroom and foldable business tables. Furthermore, the rear suspension settings were improved to provide a more comfortable ride.
The doors will now feature soft-close technology, the rear seats will have access to two hi-resolution touch screens fitted on the back of the front seats' headrests, a new Meridian Reference Audio System (optional), a new set of 18 inch light alloy wheels and a reclining central armrest for the backseats.
For those that don't need the 550 horses of the XJR that was put up for display at Frankfurt, Jaguar has 6 other engines for you, in both diesel and petrol variants. The entry-level petrol unit is a 2-liter turbocharged engine with 240 HP.
On the diesel side, you'll get only a 3-liter V6 unit that pushes out 275 HP and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, returning an average 38.6 mpg (6.1 l/100km) and releasing 159 grams of CO2 into the atmosphere for every kilometer.
