Ford Focus RS500 Production Video
text size: A- A+
No, the vehicle doesn’t offer 500 hp, the “500” in its name stands for the limited production that, by the way, was sold out in just 12 hours.
The RS500, which comes with 350 hp, is the current generation Focus’ swan song. The hatch only needs 5.6 seconds to deal with the 0 to 62 mph sprint (it manages to cut 0.3 seconds off the standard RS’s time) and can reach a top speed of 163 mph.
Even though the car is sold out, Ford continues to squeeze marketing juice out of it. The company has now released a video that shows us how the performance vehicle comes to life.
The 1 minute 55 seconds video begins by showing the car punishing its tires (you’ll hear that) on the Nurburgring’s Karussell. Moving to the production part, wee see Ford men and machines joining forces to bring the RS500 to motoring life. The vehicle reaches a drivable state and enters a special shop where the final details are settled. The transition process is watched by a group of Kuga SUVs.
The last parts that reach the car are the eye-candy ones: the aggressive front bumper and side skirts, as well as the rims. The final touch is given by the specialists at 3M, who wrap the car in a matte black foil, paying close attention to each detail. Enjoy!
