Watch and Sigh: Ford Focus RS500 in Motion

After it was forced by the imminent leakage of photos showing the limited edition Focus RS500 to present the car ahead of its scheduled unveiling, American manufacturer Ford thought that, while they're at it, to launch the official video showing the car as well. And below it is...

The model which marks the end of the RS line in Focus' genealogical tree is, as said, limited to only 500 "performance car enthusiasts." It comes packing a 2.5l 5-cylinder engine developing 345 horsepower and 460 Nm of torque. The boost over the production version has mainly been achieved by improving the engine's combustion process.

Probably the meanest looking Focus out there, the RS500 accelerates from naught to sixty in 5.6 seconds and tops at a speed of 265 km/h (165 mph).

The looks chosen for the last of its kind by Ford is dominated by black, with a unique matt black 'foil' paint finish, completed by matching 19-inch alloy wheels.

"We were determined to mark the end of production for the current and acclaimed Focus RS with something even more special,” Joe Bakaj, Ford of Europe's vice president for Product Development said about the car.

“From its stunning looks to its intoxicating performance, we have no doubt that the RS500 will be appreciated and quickly snapped up by performance car enthusiasts."

The RS500, together with full details, will be unveiled at the 2010 Leipzig Motor Show in Germany on April 9. Officially, because by the looks of it, the RS500 will be fully disclosed by then...
