We’ve talked about the Russian drag racing scene on multiple occasions recently and we’re now back on the topic. We told you Russians take their races more than seriously and now they’ve come up with the fastest Nissan GT-R in Europe.
This representative of the Godzilla breed played the quarter mile game earlier this week, displaying sweet results - 7.81 seconds at 178 mph (287 km/h). This Nissan was tuned in Russia by a shop called Gosha Turbo Tech, which, unsurprisingly, is run by a manly man called Gosha.

The cold war got hot

Political and military unrest aside, there’s quite a battle going on right now between US- and Russian-built GT-Rs. Who is currently leading the Russian army? Apparently, Moses.

Named Moses, this Nissan has set a new national record in its home country, while it has also become the fastest in Europe. On a global scale, this is the third-fastest GT-R. We have to explain the record currently belongs to an American-tuned GT-R, which covered the 1/4 mile sprint in 7.7 seconds.

While the Russian metal delivers 1,800 horses, the American prides itself with an output of 2,000 hp - the aforementioned values are for power at the wheels. When it comes to the US contender, we’re talking about Alpha Omega. While we’ve covered its 7.7s run back in October, AMS Performance, the crew behind the monster, obviously said they were working to up the ante once again.

Oh well, at least the Gosha Turbo GT-R set a 60-foot (18.3 meters) roll GT-R world record. During the same day, the Nissan had pulled a 1.2s value. And yes, we might have mentioned this since we really wouldn't want to upset Gosha. Check out the clip below and you'll understand.
