This Audi R8 belongs to Fonzie from DipYourCar. You might remember that it got a purple color flip back in July. Well, now the dip has come off and so have the factory wheels, as the guys at Vossen hooked him up with a brand new set of forged alloy wheels.
DYC likes to keep things fresh, and we remember that Fonzie's previous supercar, the Porsche 911 Turbo, went through several transformations.

The R8 is not what you'd call a beautiful car because it doesn't have classic supercar proportions. But the sharpness definitely draws attention to it.

"As soon as Fonzie saw the all new CG-205, he told me “that's the wheel”. I also find it to be one of my favorite designs. The open spokes and intricate detailing of the CG-Series match the more angular likes of the 2017 R8," says the Vossen marketing and branding director.

The original R8 was launched in 2007, firmly establishing Audi in the sportscar business. For the 2017 model year, we now have an all-new R8 Plus, which shares its platform and 5.2-liter V10 engine with the Lamborghini Huracan, right down to the 602 horsepower (610 PS) output.

It's been a home run for the Germans, so cool that Tony Stark got rid of the Acura and went back to an R8. Unlike most of the new cars out there, it's got no turbocharging, supercharging or electric socket charging. Possibly one of the last pure supercars deserves lenient treatment when it comes to the cosmetics department.

The front is horrible, but the rest of the R8 is kind of cute. The rear three-quarter view has some killer creases and the carbon fiber package lets people know you are filthy rich. We think the interior is cooler than all the other entry-level supercars. You certainly can't have a nice digital dash and air conditioning buttons with displays on a Ferrari. What the R8 and 488 do have in common is an abundance of buttons on the steering wheel.

Why did Fonzie buy the R8 and not the Huracan? We have no idea, but the Audi has about three inches of extra headroom, and he seems like he played football.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
