Pickup truck manufacturer Ram and heavy equipment maker Case have partnered to build a one-of-a-kind combo that consists of a unique Ram 3500 and a matching Case 580 Super N Wide Track backhoe.
Finished in a two-tone gold and black livery, the backhoe loader also received a set of chrome wheels and a redesigned interior that matches the look and feel of the truck. And we’re talking about brown leather with contrast stitching, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, chrome trim and Laramie Longhorn badges.
"The Ram 3500 Heavy Duty is by far the most capable pickup truck on the market, and like Case Construction Equipment, is no stranger to hard work. With its long list of best-in-class claims - including payload, power and towing the Ram 3500 is well suited for the jobsite," said Reid Bigland, president and CEO of Ram Truck. "The award-winning Laramie Longhorn model is loaded inside and out with distinctive Western-style design cues. With its matching Case backhoe, this rig is a show-stopper."
In case you’re wondering, the turbocharged, 95-hp backhoe won’t spend its life on a work site, but on display at several Ram and Case-sponsored events across the United States. The vehicle made its public debut at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014 show in Las Vegas, where it’ll be displayed until March 8.
The Case backhoe travels on a trailer attached to a 2014 Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn Crew Cab 4x4 truck that sports a 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine under the hood.
"Countless contractors rely on both the durability and performance of Ram Trucks and Case Construction Equipment," says Katie Pullen, brand marketing manager at Case Construction Equipment. "Matching this truck and backhoe showcase two of the construction industry's most enduring jobsite images – the rugged Ram 3500 dually and the tireless CASE backhoe loader. Ram Truck is an excellent partner to CASE, and we're excited to spend 2014 showcasing these technologies together."
