Honda takes one more step on the retro side with their air-cooled CB1100 machine and unveils the EX version. The EX brings several enhancements, both on the aesthetic and the functional side, and looks like a winning move for those in search of a retro-vibe two-wheeler.
Probably the biggest improvement is the addition of a 6th gear, and overdrive one, for high-speed highway hauls with reduced fuel consumption. The first 5 gears have remained untouched and the nimble character of the bike is therefore intact.
Also on the tech side, the Honda CB1100 EX receives 2.9 liters (0.7 gal) of extra room for fuel, a gear indicator, an instant mileage counter.
On the looks side, this new CB1100 version receives laced wheels, a retro stitched saddle, 4-into-2 silencers, revised passenger grab rail, side covers and headlight housing. No price announced yet, but dealers started to accept pre-order deposits.
