Whole BMW R90S Assembled from New Catalog Parts

Now, this is probably one of the ultimate examples of what actually re-building a bike really means: Max BMW Motorcycles has assembled a proper 2014 BMW R90S from scratch, using spare parts in the BMW catalog!

While finding spare parts for most other manufacturers' older bikes is a grueling task for restorers, this is one of BMW's really strong points, as their immense catalog of spare parts is truly comprehensive, and Max BMW Motorcycles' example speaks for itself.

After having all the bits and pieces needed to literally build a whole new bike, the operation was carried out between December 16 and 20, and the bike works perfectly and looks awesome.

Now comes the catch: just like with pretty much any other bike maker, BMW's spares come at a price which makes the whole build way more expensive than the actual market value of an old R90S.

While Max BMW Motorcycles did not name an price, we can only guess the parts were about three times more expensive than the bike's actual price. That could mean around €30,000 ($40,900), give or take few grands.

Not at all cheap, but you should consider that you're riding a literally new bike, with warranties and all. Check out the BMW R90S building process on the Max BMW Motorcycles' Facebook page.
