2012 Nissan GT-R to Get an Extra 30 hp and Spec R Version

We shall start this piece of news in a depressive manner: it seems that the R35 Nissan GT-R is approaching the moment when it will be put to sleep, with the 2012 JDM model expected to be the last one.

However, we only begun in a sad way - it seems that Nissan wants the car to go just the way it’s been living - in full glory. According to 7tune.com, the aforementioned model will gain an extra 30 hp, which means that it’s smart four-wheel-drive system will send 560 hp to the road.

Actually, the story has just begun... You see, the same source states that the Japanese are preparing the ultimate R35 GT-R incarnation. Dubbed Spec R, this will be a beast that will even send the current Spec V crying to its mommy.

No official information was released yet, but it seems that the Spec R will rely on a strict diet that will allow it to compensate what has always been a bit (just a little bit) of an Achile’s heel for the Japanese supercar: the weight. The Spec R (boy, do we love writing this name over and over again!), should tip the scales at 30-40 kg lower that the standard GT-R.

Nissan was supposed to have already hit the Nurburgring with the test versions of the aforementioned performance heroes, but the disaster that hit Japan delayed this, so nothing is clear at the moment.

Our say: Is that sweat we see on your forehood Mr. 911?
