What is Italy's most powerful road-legal machine? Well, it's not a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, or a Pagani, but something that doesn't usually come to mind when speaking about such rides: the Pininfarina Battista.
The impressive hypercar, which is capable of neck-snapping performance, has just joined the Forza Horizon 5 videogame, part of the European Automotive Car Pack, which also includes the 2021 Bentley Continental GT Convertible, 2019 Jaguar XE SV Project 8, and 1987 Mercedes-Benz AMG Hammer Wagon.

Thus, you will need an Xbox console or a gaming PC to thrash it in various environments, from historic cities and hidden ruins to breathtaking beaches and lush jungles. Gamers can create their own bespoke styling using the Livery Editor, choosing between numerous wheel designs, hundreds of exterior paint finishes, and thousands of virtual body kits.

Like the one featured in the famous videogame franchise, the real Pininfarina Battista is also available with many customization items, with the company quoting 128 million possible configurations. The automaker's chief design officer, Dave Amantea, says that each one that leaves their Cambiano Atelier factory "is a unique expression" of its owner's "personality" and "a true one-of-one."

Named after Pininfarina's founder, the Battista hypercar celebrated its debut at the Geneva Show in 2019. Production commenced three years later, and a few months later, the first copies arrived in the United Statesand. It's been said that only 150 will be made. Each hypercar takes around ten weeks to assemble by the team comprising ten craftspeople. The hand-paint process extends the period to 18 weeks.

Pininfarina's stunning Battista is not just about personalization, as it is dizzying fast. The company quotes the 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) sprint as taking 1.79 seconds and 1.86 seconds from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph). After taking off, the hypercar will reach 120 and 124 mph (193/200 kph) in 4.49 and 4.75 seconds, respectively, and it will come to a full stop from 62 miles an hour in just 101.7 feet (31 meters), which is a record.

But what powers the Battista? That would be four electric motors, one driving each wheel. It has 1,873 horsepower (1,900 ps/1,397 kW) combined, and the thrust is rated at 1,726 pound-foot (2,340 Nm) of torque. It also has all-wheel drive with torque vectoring and can top out at an electronically limited top speed of 217 mph (350 kph).

It has a curb weight of 5,075 pounds (2,302 kg), measures 193.4 inches (4,912 mm) from bumper to bumper, and uses a 120 kWh battery pack that takes less than 22.5 minutes to recharge from 20 to 80 percent. With the battery fully charged, the Pininfarina Battista can travel 296 miles (476 km).
