In order to support a fundraiser with the occasion of the “Gathering of Eagles” war bird festival in Oshkosh, USA, Ford have prepared a special one-off aviation theme Mustang. The special edition Mustang will be named AV-X10 "Dearborn Doll" and will be auctioned off during the 2009 Experimental Aircraft Association's Air Venture convention which will be held July 27 through August 2.

The AV-X10 was built by Ford's Racing division based on the 2010 Mustang GT with Glassroof. The numerous modification the one-off model exhibits, include the 10-millionth Romeo Engine Plant 4.6-liter V8, featuring Ford Racing 550 horsepower supercharger kit, FR500S performance exhaust, short throw shifter, the Handling Pack that features dampers, lowering springs and anti-roll bar kit.

On the outside, Ford's World War II air fighter theme can be recognized by the Silver Satin base paint combined with the orange trim on the nose and back, similar to the thrilling air fighters of the time. The car comes with fuselage-style pin-up art on the flanks, the "Dearborn Doll" girl.

The AV-X10 comes with the front and rear body parts from the GT 500 including rear spoiler and apron. The 19 inch wheels are taken from a SVT GT 500 as well and have yellow painted tips as the propellers from the WWII fighters used to have. The glass roof top features a translucent US Air Force-style "star and bar" graphic.

As pointed out by the mustangblog.com, the interior of the Mustang has a "worn-out" style leather seats that resembles the jackets bomber pilots wore at the time. Military olive khaki inserts can be found on door handles and seats. The dashboard cleverly displays gauges showing “Ground Speed” and “Engine Speed” for the AV-X10, while in the center of the console sits an “Engine Start” button.
