Shelby 500 HP+ Packages for 2005-2009 Mustang GT

Those who like taking their Mustangs to the track will get another reason to do so with the release of Shelby's two new post-title packages for 2005-2009 Ford Mustang GT, called the Shelby Supercharged and Shelby SR. Yet, the appeal of the 500+ troop may draw even more Mustang owners to the tarmac, especially since the packages are street legal in all 50 states.

“In traditional Shelby style, both amazing packages will give Mustang GT owners a competitive edge on the track, as well as styling that will set their pony car apart from anything else on the street,” Amy Boylan, Shelby Automobiles president said in a release.

The Shelby Supercharged package includes a 500 HP Kenne Bell Supercharger for the engine, as well as improvements to the Mustang's handling, styling and stopping power. The Shelby SR on the other hand packs even more punch, being comprised of a 500 HP Kenne Bell/ Shelby supercharger, Shelby/Baer 6 piston brakes, fully adjustable Eibach suspension and rear Watts Link.

"The performance on the SR is totally amazing. With 550 horses coupled to a short throw shifter, serious brakes and competition inspired suspension, this machine can really move. I especially like it with the optional six speed tranny,” Gary Davis, Shelby vice president added.

The packages will be available starting September and they will only be installed at Shelby Automobiles in Las Vegas or an authorized Shelby Mod Shop. Unfortunately, only 1,000 Shelby SRs per model year will be built. Prices have not yet been released.
