Rebuilding a crashed Ford Mustang GT sounds like a dream: you get the chance to start off with a reasonable amount of money, the operation can be completed in a timeframe that feels comfortable and nobody said one has to stick to the factory five-oh recipe - the possibilities are endless. However, if you're not the experienced type, such an adventure can easily turn into a nightmare. If only there would be a source of inspiration to help you steer clear of those costly mistakes... Fortunately, we're here to discuss just that, namely a damaged 2017 'Stang GT that's now being given a second chance as a 2020 Shelby GT500 impersonator.
This is one of the projects coming from the goonzquad crew. We're talking about Billy and Simon, two brothers that used to redecorate homes and decided to add their contribution to the car rebuilding side of YouTube a few years ago.

Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the bros have already completed multiple builds, with the obvious ups and downs of a fresh start. And it seems the time has come for this Mustang to get closer to its final form.

The first video of the car, showing this being taken home on the back of a platform truck, was released two years ago today. As for the clip that landed just a few hours ago (the first one below), this delivers an important update, which we'll discuss below.

To be more precise, the GT has received a GT500 front end replica (this is built from plastic), which, mixed with the custom headlights and the Cervini hood, makes for a unique combo.

And, on top of all the repairs the Blue Oval toy received, this has been gifted with other custom ingredients. We're talking about a Shelby GT350R carbon rear wing and non-R GT350 wheels, among others.

Now, we have to mention the two vids you can see below are separated by some twenty other videos about this build. And if you're willing to attempt a similar stunt, you might want to also check out those shenanigans.
